The Rush Lake Trek is one of Pakistan’s most scenic and accessible high-altitude adventures, located in the heart of the Karakoram Range near Hunza Valley. Standing at an altitude of about 4,694 meters (15,400 ft), Rush Lake is one of the highest alpine lakes in the world, surrounded by towering peaks and mesmerizing glaciers.

This trek combines adventure, culture, and nature as it passes through traditional villages, lush green fields, and rugged mountain trails. Starting from Hopper Valley, the route takes you across Hopper Glacier and Barpu Glacier, leading to a serene turquoise lake that reflects some of Pakistan’s greatest peaks — including Spantik (Golden Peak), Ultar Sar, and Ladyfinger Peak.

Itinerary

Arrival at Islamabad International Airport, meet our guide and transfer to hotel. Trek briefing and overnight stay.

Morning flight to Gilgit (weather permitting) or drive along the Karakoram Highway. Check-in at hotel and rest.

Drive from Gilgit to Hopper Valley through Karimabad. Enjoy views of Rakaposhi and Diran Peak. Overnight in Hopper.

Start trekking from Hopper Village, crossing Hopper Glacier. Camp at Bericho Kor with views of Diran Peak.

Trek through moraine and rocky paths. Spectacular view of glaciers and peaks. Overnight camp at Chidin Harai.

Reach Rush Lake — the highlight of the trek. Enjoy the pristine lake and surrounding peaks. Camp beside the lake.

Optional climb to Rush Peak for breathtaking panoramic views of Spantik, Ultar, and Ladyfinger peaks. Return to camp.

Descend to Phahi Phari through beautiful alpine scenery. Overnight camp.

Return trek to Hopper, then drive to Karimabad (Hunza). Hotel check-in and relax.

Visit Baltit Fort, Altit Fort, and local bazaar. Enjoy views from Eagle’s Nest viewpoint.

Return journey via Gilgit. If flights operate, fly back to Islamabad.

Transfer to Islamabad Airport for your onward flight. End of the tour.
